Kubesense

Alerts

KubeSense Alerts let you define conditions on your logs, metrics, and traces data and get notified through Slack, Microsoft Teams, Email, PagerDuty, Datadog On-Call, Google Chat, or Webhooks when those conditions are met.

Monitor error rates, latency spikes, resource saturation, unexpected pattern changes, and more — with flexible evaluation frequencies and multi-channel routing.

Sections

  • Alert Rules — Create and manage alert rules with configurable queries, conditions, evaluation intervals, and firing behavior
  • Integrations — Set up notification channels (Slack, Teams, Email, PagerDuty, Datadog On-Call, Google Chat, Webhook) and configure alert routing
  • Alert Events & Triage — Work firing and resolved alert instances: filter, acknowledge, assign, and drill into per-instance detail pages
  • Templates & Import — Start rules from ready-made recipes, import/export rules as JSON, and customise notification messages

Key Capabilities

  • Multi-source queries — Build alerts on Logs, Metrics, or Traces data using the same query builder as the Data Explorer
  • Formulas — Combine multiple queries with arithmetic expressions (e.g., error rate = errors / total * 100)
  • Three condition types — Threshold alerts, Change alerts, and New Value alerts
  • Flexible firing behavior — Fire at least once, more than N times, or only when breached throughout the entire window; configurable no-data behavior
  • Multi-series alerts — Group by any column to evaluate and fire alerts independently per group (e.g., per workload, per namespace)
  • Built-in triage — Acknowledge (with notification silencing), assign, and bulk-acknowledge alert instances; every notification deep-links to the exact firing instance
  • Rich context — Per-instance condition replay charts, event and notification timelines, incident history, and log/trace samples attached at fire time
  • Templates — Ready-made rule recipes, alert-type starters, JSON import/export with dry-run validation, and per-channel notification message templates
  • Notification routing — Route alerts to specific channels based on labels and matching rules
